Budget drop-in sessions
The 2018/19 draft budget is in the final stages of review before going to the Board of Governors for approval. Four briefs have been developed to help explain how budgets are developed at Mount Royal. The final two drop-in information sessions are being held at the Ideas Visualization Lounge in the Riddell Library and Learning Centre on Thursday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Attend the 41st Annual Employee Appreciation Day tomorrow
On May 24, celebrate all of your hard work. You only need about one hour to join drop-in activities. For more information visit mru.ca/EAD. Remember, all employees are invited (faculty, staff, management, casual, temporary, exempt, contract and retired).

Employee Wellness Survey
The Employee Wellness Survey gathers data about employee health and wellness for the purpose of gaining insight into current practises and understanding barriers and facilitators to well-being at MRU. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary and anonymous. Contact Erica Roberts (5951) with questions or concerns.

Safety training mandatory for all employees
All full- and part-time employees are required by provincial legislation to complete safety training. Mount Royal is offering this mandatory online training via Blackboard. It takes 15 minutes to complete and the deadline is June 30. Follow these instructions and read more about Environmental Health and Safety at Mount Royal.

MRU Kids recycling request
With summer camps fast approaching, MRU Kids is requesting help collecting an assortment of recyclable materials for crafts and projects. A list of needed recyclables can be found here. Materials can be delivered to the MRU Kids office in U239 after May 21.

Marathon on campus Sunday
Runners in the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon will come through campus between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 27. A map showing the route is here and Calgary Police Service will be onsite to direct traffic. Please expect delays on both the campus roadways and those directly outside of campus during this period.

A recognized leader in the theoretical aspects of the study of religion, Professor Steven Engler, PhD, recently gave the keynote address at the Second International Conference on Religion and Healing at Sogang University in South Korea. Read more.

Google Docs training covers using headers/footers, creating hyperlinks, inserting comments/suggestions, wrapping text, viewing previous versions and adding a table of contents. Register.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
