Ontario passes Smart Growth legislation
On Dec. 3, the Ontario government passed legislation that it says will give the province’s residents more say in how the land in their communities will be used and provide municipalities with more funding for community services such as transit and recycling.
Housing starts trend higher in November: CMHC
According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Canadian housing starts trended upward in November at 208,401 units, compared to 206,125 in October.
November home sales hit record number: TREB
According to the Toronto Real Estate Board, there were 7,385 home sales tracked through the MLS System in November 2015, a 14-per-cent increase over November 2014. This result is the best on record for the month of November.
