BookStore renovation and temporary relocation (including Parking Services)
In August, the BookStore is being renovated, with the store and its services moving to the old Library space in G100. As a result, the BookStore will be closed from Monday, July 30 to Wednesday, August 1 and will remain there until the end of October. As well, Parking Services will move to G100, along with the Digital Print Centre and Campus Card starting Thursday, August 2 until the end of October.
Electrical maintenance shutdown in main building from July 20 to 21
The annual electrical maintenance shutdown will be done in the Lincoln Park main building from Friday, July 20 at 11 p.m. to Saturday, July 21 at 6 a.m. During the shutdown, the building will be closed. Please turn off computers and empty refrigerators by the end of the work day on Friday, July 20.
Continuing Education Registration Services has moved
Continuing Education Registration Services has moved from the A101 wickets in Kerby Hall to the Continuing Education faculty offices on the third floor of the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning (EC3100).
Banner 9 update creates efficiencies
Migrating from Banner 8 to Banner 9 as the core software system for day-to-day operations will create numerous efficiencies for the future. So far, 247 separate processes (or forms) have been reduced to 146, with more reductions to come. For more information about the Banner 9 project, visit the project's Google site.
Campus-wide participation in safety training nears the target
Nearly 1,500 employees successfully completed safety training mandated by provincial legislation by the June 30 deadline. Those who have not are asked to do so as soon as possible. The program is still open on Blackboard under Basic Security Awareness. Contact Environmental Health and Safety if you need assistance.
Campus-wide space audit is underway
The annual audit of campus spaces began July 2 and will continue for two months. Facilities Management staff are visiting every room to update information regarding space, furniture and amenities. Photos may be taken. More information and an approximate schedule can be found in the FAQ section of the Facilities Management website.

Altitude and pregnancy article selected for esteemed APS collection
Department of Biology Professor Trevor Day, PhD, has been studying with colleagues the influence of altitude and physical activity during pregnancy above 3,700 metres. Their article titled, "Extreme Pregnancy: Maternal Physical Activity at Everest Base Camp," was selected for APSselect, a collection from the American Physiological Society showcasing some of the best recently published articles in physiological research. Francine May has been appointed associate dean, Collections and Digital Services, for the Library. May, who is also an associate professor, accepted the position after serving in an interim role for the past 10 months. Read more.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up
As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
