2018 T4s and T4As available on MyMRU
Log in to MyMRU, click on the Employee Resources tab and go to the T4 link on the lefthand side. You may have more than one T4 if you had two different types of employment at MRU in 2018 (e.g., a casual position and a staff position). Please direct questions to the Payroll representative assigned to your last name or employee group.

New MRFA Collective Agreement finalized
Ratification votes by the Mount Royal Faculty Association membership and the Board of Governors are expected to be held next week, which is the final step in the bargaining process.

Submit 2018 health, dental and HSA claims by March 31
Outstanding 2018 claims are due March 31. Any 2018 credits left over in your Health Spending Account will carry over into 2019. Any credits from 2017 expire on March 31 and can only be used for claims dated 2018. More information.

Call for Honorary Doctorate and Professor Emeriti nominations
The deadline to nominate individuals for honorary doctorates or professor emeriti for Fall 2019 Convocation is March 15. Please consider nominating an individual. More information is available here.

Apply for Teaching & Learning Enhancement Grants by March 15
TLE grants (up to $5,000) support projects that enhance the quality of teaching, learning and student engagement at MRU. Full-time tenured and tenurable faculty can submit proposals to the Office of the Vice-Provost and AVP Teaching & Learning by March 15. Two-factor authentication only takes two minutes to set up and greatly increases security on your account. Choosing the Google Prompt option is secure and convenient.

Student Guide to Mapping a System shared worldwide
The Student Guide to Mapping a System has been s hared with more than 3,000 students around the world who are registered in the Map the System Challenge, as well as educators at 35 universities. The document was authored by James Stauch, director of the Institute of Community Prosperity, Anna Johnson, community engagement strategist also from the Institute and Daniela Papi-Thornton from Systems-Led Leadership.

Gallop receives two awards and is published in handbook
Associate professor Cynthia Gallop, chair of MRU's Human Research Ethics Board, received the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council's (SSHRC's) Individual Partnership Engage Grant and Explore Grant. As well, her chapter titled “ Insinuating: understanding approaches to critical practice” was published in the Routledge Handbook of Critical Social Work.

Mount Royal journalism student becomes Donaldson scholar
Soon-to-be journalism grad Huyana Cyprien was named as a 2019 Joan Donaldson CBC News Scholarship recipient. Thirty-three candidates were interviewed before the eight finalists were chosen. Cyprien is the fourth Donaldson scholar from Mount Royal's journalism program.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
