Announcements


Masks are now mandatory on campus

Effective immediately, anyone coming to campus must wear a mask or face covering in all indoor public spaces. This applies to students, employees, contractors and visitors. Please bring your own mask. Review how to safely don a mask. More information.

Mandatory annual cybersecurity training
The deadline for mandatory annual cybersecurity training is July 31. All employees must complete this training. More information.


Recognition program review complete

Human Resources appreciates recommendations received from campus over the past year and a half. Given our current environment, the rollout is postponed until all employees return to campus. Long-service milestones will be recognized this fall and celebrated at a future date. Questions can be sent to recognition@mtroyal.ca.


New e-cards promote peer-to-peer recognition

Have a co-worker you’d like to celebrate from a distance? New e-cards have been created so you can show your appreciation to your peers. Simply copy and paste the content into an email and send to any colleague. The card choices include general messages of gratitude, congratulations and birthday wishes.


Office of Student Conduct name change
The Office of Student Conduct (OSC) has changed its name to Student Community Standards (SCS). This name change aims to provide students with a more positive connotation regarding academic and non-academic misconduct.

Massage Therapy Student Practicum Clinic reopening July 27
The Massage Therapy Student Practicum Clinic is now accepting appointments. Safety protocols are in place. You can book a relaxation or therapeutic massage with a student starting July 27.

Catamount Fellowship applications open soon
Know an outstanding student? Recommend they participate in the Catamount Fellowship for Emerging Changemakers (formally known as the Catalyst Fellowship). Applications open Aug. 1 to MRU students who are passionate about research, community and social change.

MRU is partnering with the
Canadian Institutes of Health Research -funded research project Indigenous Primary Health Care and Policy Research Network (IPHCPR) with three MRU faculty researchers: Andrea Kennedy, PhD, Gabrielle Lindstrom, PhD, and Katharine McGowan, PhD. The IPHCPR Network will promote primary health-care system improvement to achieve greater Indigenous health equity.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
