Remembrance Day building closures
Campus buildings will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11 for fire alarm testing. U-wing will open after 8 a.m. and the Taylor Centre will open after noon. All other buildings will be closed between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m.

New Cougars Campus Store Hours
Effective Friday, Nov. 1, the Cougars Campus Store will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Filming on campus
The television series Jann has been filming at MRU, with Jann Arden, Sarah McLachlan and k.d. lang on campus. This is a great way to generate revenue and expand Mount Royal's reach into the community. Whenever possible, Event and Theatre Services will let the campus know when filming is occurring, including notifying those areas which will be directly impacted.

The MRU 2018 Graduate Follow-Up Survey of 2017/2018 graduates found that 84 per cent of graduates were employed within a year of completing their degree, with 79 per cent of those saying their job is related to their program of study.

Fleet of geophysical laboratories in the works
Associate Professor Katherine Boggs of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is working on an ambitious EON-ROSE project to place a fleet of geophysical observatories across Canada to probe everything from the inner Earth to the upper atmosphere, as detailed in “Earth scientists push ambitious project to map Canada’s geology” published by the Nature International Journal of Science. In addition, Boggs and colleagues also recently published “Google Earth Models with COLLADA and WxAzygy Transparent Interface: An example from Grotto Creek, Front Ranges, Canadian Cordillera” in Geoscience Canada.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up

As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates.
