Mount Royal response to provincial budget
Read the official Mount Royal University response to the Government of Alberta's 2018 budget, which was announced Thursday, March 22.

Riddell Library and Learning Centre (RLLC) receives Coat of Arms
On March 27, the RLLC received the Alberta Coat of Arms from Calgary-Elbow MLA Greg Clark in recognition of the province’s role in developing the facility. The RLLC received $88.4 million capital investment from the Government of Alberta (spread over three years).

The Centre for Community Disaster Research's (CCDR) report titled, "Rising Waters, Difficult Decisions, Findings and Recommendations from the Calgary Flood Project" is being featured on PreventionWeb, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction's website. Read more.

Student work to be presented at indigenizing entrepreneurship conference
Three papers by Mount Royal University students derived from experiences with Otahpiakki will be presented at the Global Conference on Indigenizing Entrepreneurship, to be held at Algonquin College from June 3 to 5 in Ottawa. Read more.


Celebrating Mount Royal’s International Certified Nurses
In recognition of International Certified Nurses Day, which was celebrated March 19, the School of Nursing and Midwifery acknowledges nine faculty members with a Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in a specialty area. Read more.

Micheline Maylor shortlisted for poetry award
Mount Royal English professor Micheline Maylor, PhD, who is also Calgary's 2016-2018 Poet Laureate, has been shortlisted for the League of Canadian Poets' Pat Lowther Memorial Award. Maylor's Little Wildheart is published by the University of Alberta Press.

Professor Gregg Trueman nominated for AHS President’s Excellence Award
Gregg Trueman, PhD and a professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, has been nominated for an Alberta Health Services President’s Excellence Award as part of the East Calgary Family Care Clinic and Patient Advisory Group for Outstanding Achievement in Patient and Family Centred Care.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group), for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for procedures.
