On March 27, the RLLC received the Alberta Coat of Arms from Calgary-Elbow MLA Greg Clark in recognition of the province’s role in developing the facility. The RLLC received $88.4 million capital investment from the Government of Alberta (spread over three years).

Micheline Maylor shortlisted for poetry award
Mount Royal English professor Micheline Maylor, PhD, who is also Calgary's 2016-2018 Poet Laureate, has been shortlisted for the League of Canadian Poets' Pat Lowther Memorial Award. Maylor's Little Wildheart is published by the University of Alberta Press.

Gregg Trueman, PhD and a professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, has been nominated for an Alberta Health Services President’s Excellence Award as part of the East Calgary Family Care Clinic and Patient Advisory Group for Outstanding Achievement in Patient and Family Centred Care.

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group), for regular updates.
