Paper and cardboard banned from city landfills as of Oct. 1
Paper and cardboard can no longer be thrown in garbage cans or landfill bins on campus. As of Oct. 1, Mount Royal will be fined for any waste sent to the City's landfills that includes paper or cardboard. Please use the bins across campus labelled paper or mixed recycle. Keep liquids out of mixed recycle bins Empty your coffee and cold drink cups before putting them in the mixed recycle bins. Liquids contaminate the bin contents, meaning nothing in the bin can be recycled and must go to the landfill instead.
