Season of Caring kicks off

Transgender Day of Remembrance
Transgender Day of Remembrance takes place annually to honour and remember the lives lost to violence due to transphobia, and to bring awareness to continued violence against the transgender community. From Nov. 19 to 25, the trans flag is flown, and will be at half mast as a symbol of respect and mourning on Nov. 20. The Mount Royal Library is showcasing a book display centering around trans authors, voices and stories, and an on-campus ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.
Massage therapy subjects needed
The massage therapy diploma program is seeking participants for its three-month case study course, helping students to understand the effect massage therapy may have on symptoms from various conditions or pathologies. If interested, complete the participant application package and return by Nov. 21 to massage@mtroyal.ca. More information.
No smoking or vaping at doorways or inside
Please note that smoking and vaping are not allowed near doorways or inside any campus buildings. Complaints have been made about people smoking near the EC building entrances and the Riddell Library and Learning Centre. Another problem area is the second-level patio between the O and T wings. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
Put uncoated, non-waxy food containers in organics
Most cardboard food containers, muffin papers and wooden chopsticks
― but not Styrofoam ―
can go in the organics bin. When we produce less garbage, we reduce our environmental footprint. Do the right thing: put your lunch leftovers (container and all) in organics.

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates.
