City of Calgary Engagement Session: Richardson Way Study
The City of Calgary is conducting a planning study to create a plan for Richardson Way and Richard Road S.W. to promote a comprehensive transportation system while accommodating anticipated growth. Provide your input today from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ideas Visualization Lounge in the Riddell Library and Learning Centre.

Indigenous Strategic Plan: Report to our Communities and an Honouring of David Docherty

MRU receives Canada Research Chair support and internal SSHRC Explore and Engage grants
Mount Royal has been allocated $2 million in funding for two new Canada Research Chairs (CRCs). The University will be able to bring on a Tier 2 CRC (emerging researcher) for five years and a Tier 1 CRC for seven years. The process of determining how to nominate applicants for these opportunities will begin soon. Read more.

Canadian Association of Journalists recognizes the Calgary Journal
Two MRU journalism projects have been nominated by the Canadian Association of Journalists in the Student Award of Excellence category, alongside projects from three other universities, including McGill, UBC (graduate program) and University of King's College. Read more.

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group), for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for procedures.
