President recognized at CACUSS
Tim Rahilly, PhD, Mount Royal's president and vice-chancellor, received the highest award possible from the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) at its annual conference held at the Telus Convention Centre and on campus last week. Mount Royal's Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP) 2018 Community Report was released on National Indigenous Peoples Day. While the University's work is far from done, the report highlights where progress is being made towards meeting the goals of the ISP.

Developing high-impact talent roundtable for faculty and administration On Aug. 26, the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Career Services department are leading a research program exploring Calgary’s dynamic labour market. Summer activities at the Riddell Library and Learning Centre Throughout the summer the Riddell Library and Learning Centre is holding a number of fun and informative workshops and activities each day. Pass-holders for the Riddell Library and Learning Centre parkade and Lot 6A can park in Lot 7 behind the Taylor Centre during the two-day closure. Please enter off Mount Royal Gate/50 Avenue as Mount Royal Circle will be closed. The closure is part of work to replace underground water valves. After construction is completed, the pride crosswalk will be repainted. More information . Restricted vehicle access at East Gate
From June 26 through mid-July, Mount Royal Circle at East Gate will be closed past the entrances to the Riddell Library and Learning Centre and the Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts' parking lots. Calgary Transit routes 18 and 20 are being rerouted. Check the signage at your bus stop or check service updates on the Calgary Transit website.
No mail delivery or printing on June 28
Document Services will be closed this Friday (June 28) for inventory. There will be no mail delivery or printing pick up. Orders will still be accepted but will not be available for pick up until Tuesday, July 2.
No hot water in A-Wing July 9 to 12
Washrooms and kitchen sinks will have cold water only from July 9 through 12 due to upgrades to the air-handling unit in Kerby Hall. Summer operating hours start next week
Regular operating hours for most university departments on campus will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 1 to August 14 for those who wish to take a lunch break of 30 minutes in lieu of the regular one hour. Did you know? Environmental Services cleans more than 1,500 student lockers at the end of the academic year through June and July.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign-up
As each semester begins (August/September and December/January), areas with ongoing employee activities can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
