Budget drop-in sessions
The 2018/19 draft budget is in the final stages of review before going to the Board of Governors for approval. Four briefs have been developed to help explain how budgets are developed at Mount Royal. In addition, three drop-in information sessions for employees will be held in the Ideas Visualization Lounge at the Riddell Library and Learning Centre.

Safety training mandatory for all employees
Provincial legislation requires employers to ensure all full- and part-time employees complete safety training. Mount Royal is offering this mandatory online training via Blackboard. Meagan Bowler announced as dean, University Library
Effective July 1, Meagan Bowler will take on the position of dean, University Library. Bowler has been working in academic libraries for more than 16 years, and has been serving in an interim role as University Librarian for the last eight months. Read more.
Recreation closures
The Triple Gym will be closed for a basketball tournament from May 18 to 20. The Triple Gym and track will be closed for Convocation from May 29 to June 1. All spring and summer activities are open for registration on ePlay.
SAMRU representation on the Board of Governors
Elected in March, SAMRU's president, Andrew Nguyen, is the new student representative on Mount Royal's Board of Governors, replacing Shifrah Gadamsetti.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up
As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group) for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google Group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for guidelines.
