The MRU Library Maker Studio will screen Print the Legend—a 2014 Netflix original documentary focused on the 3D printing revolution. Print the Legend portrays the history and achievements of several 3D printing companies, including MakerBot and Formlabs, which manufactured five of the 3D printers available in the Maker Studio. The documentary also explores the relationship between the 3D printing industry and the gun rights advocacy movement. Cody Wilson, who is known for gun rights advocacy and specifically for promoting the 3D printing of guns, is interviewed extensively in the documentary.

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion lead by Kerry Harmer, the Maker Studio Specialist, to discuss changes in 3D printing since the film was made, ethical issues raised in the film, and new issues that have arisen since the documentary was made.

Come and learn about 3D printing and ask all the questions you have about this technology.
