A new Salmon Arm casino is ready to open its doors to players on Monday.

Chances Salmon Arm, in collaboration with the Adams Lake Indian Band and Berezan Management, will officially open its doors on July 20th.

The new facility is located on Adams Lake Indian Band land, making Adams Lake the fourth First Nations band in B.C. to host a gaming facility.

“I see the relationship with BCLC and the Berezan Group as an opportunity for further economic growth and development for the Adams Lake economy,” said Robin Billy, Chief of the Adams Lake Indian Band. “Not only will Chances Salmon Arm provide us with additional revenue, it has also created numerous employment opportunities for our community.”

The new casino is creating employment for 85 people, and BCLC projects revenues in the first year of operation will be approximately $7.7 million. The Adams Lake Indian Band will receive 10 per cent of the province’s net income generated by the gaming centre.

“People can look forward to a wide range of exciting games and outstanding food and beverage options in a casual dining setting. This venture is a great example of three partners bringing new entertainment for adults to enjoy, which in turn will benefit the surrounding community of Salmon Arm and the province as a whole,” said Jim Lightbody, President and CEO of BCLC.

The new 22,000 square foot facility is located at 384 Trans-Canada Highway and features 99 slot machines, one electronic blackjack machine, and 124 electronic and 24 paper bingo seats on a 9,000 square foot gaming floor. The building includes banquet and meeting spaces available for conferences and community events.

Chances Salmon Arm replaces the Fairweather Bingo Hall in Vernon.
