New rental opening this spring in Montreal

A new rental project, known as Le Namur, is taking shape in the Le Triangle district in Montréal, just steps from the Namur and De la Savane metro stations. The modern 175-unit building will be ready for occupancy in the spring.

Under construction since last spring, Le Namur is the result of a partnership between Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Habitations Trigone, a developer with 25 years’ experience in residential construction on Montréal’s North and South shores.

Le Namur meets a real demand in this neighbourhood. Not only is it contributing to its revitalization, it’s the first residential rental building built in the Côte-des-Neiges area in over a decade. Valued at $35 million, this project is creating over 200 jobs,” said Normand Bélanger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.

Le Namur will offer studios and one- and two-bedroom units to serve a diverse clientele composed of students, young professionals, single people and young families. The building’s appeal lies in its proximity to Université de Montréal and several hospitals, including the MUHC, and of course, its view of Mount Royal. The neighbourhood has been undergoing a rebirth for a few years now and we believe that Le Namur’s tenants will appreciate all it has to offer,” said in turn Habitations Trigone’s management, Patrice St-Pierre and Serge Rouillard.

Boasting a sleek urban architecture, the 10-storey energy efficient building at 4974 Place de la Savane will have a two-level underground parking garage and concierge service. In addition, each floor will have a lounge.

The development plan of Le Triangle launched in 2009 by the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough is aimed at increasing the number of residential units by 3,200 over 15 years. Leveraging the area’s potential for transit-oriented development, the plan also calls for the addition of green spaces, bicycle paths and new neighbourhood stores.
