IFMA Toronto announces chapter award winners

IFMA Toronto announced its 2015 chapter award winners at its annual Silent Auction late last year.

Lidia Ragusa, who has risen through the ranks at Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions (GIS) to become a facility manager II, was recognized as FM of the Year. Ragusa has been an active member of IFMA Toronto since joining in 2012, attending most events, including FM Education Day, and completing courses to earn her certification as a Facilities Management Professional (FMP).

Syed Nawaid Amir, a building operator who wants to expand his knowledge and skills by continuing his facilities management studies, received the FMP Grant.

Geoff Williams, general manager of the Corporate Event Centre at the Centre for Health & Safety Innovation (CHSI), earned the Outstanding Achievement Award. Williams, who is also a past president of IFMA Toronto, currently serves on IFMA’s board and is an instructor for Ryerson University and the University of Toronto’s facility management programs.

IFMA Toronto also celebrated two recent awards of its own at the annual silent auction. At World Workplace, it was named Large Chapter of the Year and president Nick Heibein was recognized with an Emerging Leader Award.
