Permanent closures of internal ring road starting June 30
Starting June 30 two sections of Mount Royal Circle, the inner campus ring road, will be permanently closed. With increasing development in the neighbourhood the number of vehicles taking a shortcut through the campus, frequently at higher speeds, continues to rise. There have been many near misses involving pedestrians and vehicles.

We realize the road closures will be an inconvenience for some, but it is a necessary step to ensure the safety of pedestrians on campus. All parking lots will remain accessible, bus routes will not change and new signage will help redirect traffic.

Closure gates will be used as barriers. In an emergency, these gates can be lifted to allow access to emergency vehicles. The gates may also be lifted in special circumstances, such as when students are moving into Residence.
