Library closed on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Due to a scheduled power shutdown, the Riddell Library and Learning Centre will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 2. We apologize for this inconvenience so close to exams. Alternative locations to study on campus and across the city are available here.

Need high and sponsorship down for 2017 Season of Caring
SAMRU reports there have been 65 gift hamper applications (for 247 individuals) for this year's Season of Caring program, however only 40 donors have signed up. Need is exceptionally high this year. Help warm up a student's winter by sponsoring a gift hamper as an individual or as a department. You may also drop off non-perishable food items and hygiene products at the donation boxes in the Peer Support Centre (Wyckham, Z210). Tax receipts will be provided for all gifts-in-kind totalling over $20. Cash gifts are also welcome. Deadline is Dec. 1. More info .

Aquatic Centre closed from Dec. 6 to Jan. 7
Mount Royal's Aquatic Centre will be closed for its mandatory biannual maintenance shutdown from Dec. 6 to Jan. 7. Find the most up-to-date schedule at mru.ca/findyourswim.

United Way fundraising campaign complete for 2017
This year's United Way fundraising campaign finished on Dec. 1. Many thanks to all those who donated. Funds raised go to support vulnerable Calgarians, connecting them with opportunities to help them succeed.

Freight elevator closure
The main campus freight elevator will be out of service from Dec. 1 to Jan. 7 for an upgrade to the control system. Please use the U Wing elevator whenever possible or contact Facilities Management for more information.

Hazardous materials audit begins Dec. 4
A hazardous materials audit of the main Lincoln Park building will begin Dec. 4. Given the age of the building, the audit will involve taking samples of building materials to identify and mitigate any risks. Facilities Management will notify departments when work will be done in their areas. The audit is a safe procedure and is not expected to interfere with normal work.

MRUKids thanks staff and faculty for donating their recyclables!
MRUKids' 2017 session was a success in part due to the sustainable and innovative projects the campers created. Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group), for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for procedures.
