New login screen for Google compromises privacy on shared computers and devices

Google's new login page permanently enables the stay signed in option. You must log out of all of the Google apps you've used to avoid the next person having access to all of your emails and files. Make sure to log out of Google/Gmail/Google Drive first, then log out of any shared computer or device. For more information on IT security visit mru.ca/itsecurity.

Two nods for Professor Richard Harrison

Professor Richard Harrison’s newest book of poems, On Not Losing My Father's Ashes in the Flood (Wolsak and Wynn), recently took third place in the Alcuin Society for Book Design Awards and has also been named as a finalist for the Stephan G. Stephansson Award for Poetry from the Alberta Literary Awards.


MRU to be featured on CBC National Radio April 14 and 17
Professor Mario Trono's hour-long program titled, “Seeing God: Religion at the Movies,” will air on CBC National Radio Friday at 4 p.m. and Monday at 6 p.m. Trono speaks with a rabbi from Halifax, a United Church minister in Vancouver, a Hindu filmmaker in India, a Buddhist in Toronto, an aboriginal filmmaker in Quebec, Muslim film festival organizers and one atheists.

Africa Book Drive
Professor Michael-Faith Uzoka has donated 7,000 books to eight African universities since 2004. Gently used books in various disciplines published between 2011 and 2017 can be dropped off with your department's admin assistant or email fuzoka@mtroyal.ca for pickup.

Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept.) (Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to employees describing the semester's activities. Employees can then opt in to a distribution list, such as Google Groups, to get updates. Emails can be sent here.
