October is Disability Employment Awareness Month
For the first time in history, Alberta has officially named October 2017 as Disability Employment Awareness Month in recognition of the many and varied contributions of workers with disabilities. On Oct. 2 at City Hall, several Mount Royal TVP students along with others from across the city were on hand to hear the proclamation from the Deputy Mayor. Full details.

Recruiting for Brain in Motion study
Mount Royal and the U of C's Hotchkiss Brain Institute have partnered on the Brain In Motion II study — examining the relationship between exercise, cerebral blood flow and cognition in older adults who are at increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Men and women aged 50 to 80 are being recruited to take part in the study. More information.

Languages Institute is moving
The Languages Institute is moving to G201 from Oct. 16 to Oct. 30. After Oct. 30 the Institute will be permanently relocated to G208. Please note communications may be slightly delayed due to the move.

Resource Planning Task Force (RPTF) information sessions
The RPTF undertook a year-long stakeholder engagement process to ensure the University has a sustainable and resilient financial planning model. Start of semester emails, with option for distribution list sign up

As each semester begins (Aug./Sept. and Dec./Jan.), areas with ongoing employee activites can send an email to all employees describing their semester activities. Employees can then choose to opt in to that area's distribution list (Google Group), for regular updates. If you would like to send an email and/or set up a Google group for your area, please contact Marketing and Communications for procedures.
