Paul Boyd joins Eyewitness News investigative team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — WSOC-TV News Director Julie Szulczewski announces Paul Boyd will be joining Channel 9 Eyewitness News on Monday.

Boyd will join the award-winning team of investigative journalists at Channel 9. He will focus on Whistleblower 9 investigations, which are in-depth reports that look into anonymous tips of wrongdoing and hold the powerful accountable.

Paul was most recently a New York-based correspondent for CBS Television Distribution’s national news magazine “Inside Edition,” as well as the anchor of “Inside Edition Weekend” for 13 years.

“Paul has extensive experience on major stories,” Szulczewski said. “He is an investigative journalist who rolls up his sleeves and gets to work. It’s a pleasure to have him join our team.”

Paul has reported and investigated such major news stories as the Fort Hood shootings, Hurricane Katrina, the Sandy Hook school shooting and the Boston Marathon bombing.

He has traveled the world reporting on the war in Iraq, the London terror bombings and the Daniel Pearl kidnapping.

Previously, Boyd served as anchor and reporter for A-Channel, the city owned-and-operated television station serving Winnipeg and Now TV News Channel.

Boyd graduated from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada.
